Every spring Free Your Mane exhibits in Italy at the largest beauty show in the world, Cosmoprof Bologna. This yearly trip to Italy is just one of the heavy burdens we shoulder and to ease the blow we took three days in Vernazza on the Italian rivieria. Check out the amazing view from our little room:
I took the opportunity to do a Facebook Live post, a wonderful way to connect with our 22K+ (!!!) followers on Facebook. I'll do more of these in the future and I'll give you a heads up beforehand on our Facebook page so I can talk to all of you and answer your questions in real time.
In the meantime, please check out our first Facebook Live video and transcript below!
Live from Italy

Hi, everyone. This is Israel Segal, the founder of Free Your Mane. You all asked me if I could do a live post from Italy, so this is my first Free Your Mane live video. So I hope you like it.
Anyway, we’re here at the show. I'm sure you don't want to look at me, (although, my hair does look pretty good today). But I will tell you a little bit about the brand -- Free Your Mane. As you all know, our brand story is that we are for people who need extra hydration, who want more moisture, and maybe have textured hair, or dry hair and don't want parabens, sulphates or phthalates in their products, because I don't, and that why I created the line. In my family, we have curly, coarse, textured hair. You probably know that my kids are African American, so they have two different textures of hair. But what we all have in common is that we need extra, extra hydration. And that's what For Your Mane delivers (without any of the bad stuff).
So, I'm just gonna turn this around and give you a little preview -- if you guys want to comment or ask any questions. This is the Fair. We're in the Extraordinary Gallery and it's ginormous. The Fair's about seven football fields big. And this is our little space here; this is our For Your Mane booth. This is our beautiful poster designed by KT Smail and turned into a beautiful piece of art by Sarah Reidmann. As you guys know, we do collaborations with artists. So that's really something fun that we get to do.
And here's our products, and here's our line of hair care, which we started with that you can find at Anthropologie.
Here's our hero product, the Restorative Hair Oil, and the rest of our hair line. And some of you probably don't even know that we now have a new Daily Detangling Conditioner and Shampoo. We have new labels on them, so they're a little bit different. You can tell them apart in the shower in case you're blind like I am and don't wear your glasses to take a shower.
And we have the Body Care, not including our candle, and our Body Oil that you've probably seen at Anthropologie stores. And a new Yuzu body wash that we are going to premiere in America shortly.
And this is our little inspiration wall. We like people to see what we're all about and get a feeling, so I include inspiration that I love. And there's a picture of my dad and his sister, my aunt Sylvia, who I like to honor and keep in the case here with me.
And here's some detail on our beautiful poster, For Your Mane. And here's some more inspiration. And I hope you guys like this live video and having said that--
Oh, let me just show you: Here's our busy brand manager, Patty, writing up orders. And our designer, Dane Holweger, otherwise known as @randomgorgeous.
He's worried about having chocolate all over his mouth.
You could see him on @randomgorgeous on Instagram and you can follow his work there. And Patty, you don't want to get too close to because she has a cold, but she's the lovely Patty Schmucker from American Made Beauty.
And having said that-- And I hope you enjoyed this video. And leave lots of comments; tell me what you think, questions. And, yeah! That's Facebook Live. Bye!
